Autumn Appreciation

Thanksgiving is fast approaching for us Canadians, and we at The Rex felt it was the most appropriate time to express our gratitude.

The Rex was recently featured for the second time in an article for BlogTO, going over some of the recent changes, and hopes for the future. We cannot, however, look to the future without first acknowledging our past. We are so thankful to so many different people, we are compelled to at least write some words honoring the many ways we have been blessed this year.

Firstly we would like to take a moment to thank our wonderful staff. You often do not get the appreciation you deserve for your tireless efforts. No matter how busy you get, or how hard a day you've had, you are always able to smile and be helpful, while bringing smiles to others. Whether it has been serving drinks, cooking food, cleaning rooms, or simply making sure people are enjoying themselves, our Rex family always finds a way to be of service. Your hospitality and charisma (along with Bob's) are the main reasons we get to claim our 'signature Rex charm', and your dedication is the driving force that keeps us running.

Speaking of which, we could not do a thankfulness post without showing some love for our musicians. We often hear firsthand how difficult it can be to live as a musician in today's day and age. Yet, through thick and thin, you have all helped us build such a warm, safe and respectful community that not only celebrates live music performance but also elevates Jazz/Blues culture in the city. Thanks to you and your music, our audiences come from all walks of life and have access to a wide variety of sounds and emotions they may not have experienced otherwise. For your many talents, devotion, and hard work, we are eternally grateful.

Last but not least, we are so grateful for our amazing patrons, customers, and friends who have supported us throughout this pandemic, and beyond. From purchasing Rex Merch when we were closed, to filling up our seats when we reopened, and even donations in between: we are truly lucky to have such passionate and loyal supporters. You are all the main reasons behind our success and longevity: why we do what we do, why we strive to be the best at our jobs, and why we have achieved such success. We have come this far and lasted this long because of you, and for that, we applaud you.

So now that we have given credit where credit is due, we are excited to move forward and look towards the future of the Rex. Aside from a link to the BlogTO article, you will find our October Calendar below this post. We have some amazing performances lined up for the spooky month so make sure to get presale tickets as early as you can so you don't miss out! One final 'Thanks' to you, reading this now. Hope to see you at a show sometime soon :)
